How to take care a baby during teething period? For new parents, you have to know that teething and colds have similar symptoms. When the baby’s teeth come out, normally it will cause minor fever or as bad as a painful ear infection.
Don’t panic when your baby got ear infection, just bring him to clinic to get treatment. This is to prevent any permanent damage to the ear drum. As for minor fever, it is very normal during teething period. In my experience, I always give gripe water regularly to my baby during teething period and it is proven can prevent fever.
Other symptoms you have to watch out are red cheeks and excessive drooling. You might notice that one cheek is red and the other is normal; chances are the new tooth will emerge on the side that’s red. As for drooling, it is common among babies but excessive drooling is a sign of teething. The drooling might be so excessive that you have to change your baby’s outfits all the time due to dampness.
Some babies will give weird or unexplained symptoms during teething period. Some of them will cry excessively and this is the hardest part to deal with, both of you and your baby. You and your baby can hardly sleep at night. You have to be really patience in this hard situation. Time passes by so fast and without realizing it, you baby has grown up. As I said, give you baby gripe water regularly to relief the pain. The gripe water is mainly for relief pain from wind, digestive upsets especially during teething period.
